AGM Minutes 11/11/10

Background

With John Nash, due to other commitments in his life, stepping down as club secretary, the other founder members, Cath & Lynne Davies, felt the fair thing to do is call an AGM and have a vote to elect all the club officer positions.

Finance

Accounts were presented showing a balance of £410-43. With expenditure on hall hire, keys, prizes & banner. The new committee members will be required to sort out a bank account, requiring a minimum of 2 signatures. ACTION: Committee

Attendance

Attendance records were presented showing healthy attendance.

Any other business

Discussion on the future of the Group resulted in a desire to grow the group and find larger premises. ACTION :ALL

Further discussion resulted in a decision to keep the group within a 5 mile radius of Pontardawe.
It was agreed that if members have a particular passion it should raised (at any time) so that so we can, for example, hold master classes. ACTION: ALL

It was agreed to hold a Christmas party on 23rd December. ACTION: ALL

Pontardawe council may offer funding opportunities for T shirts for parades. ACTION: Vaughan Budd

If members wish to purchase equipment, they can do so via, James Mathews who would be happy to buy on their behalf and pass on the discount he receives. ACTION: James Matthews/ALL

It was agreed to try to purchase ENI Hoodies (cost to be borne by individual members) but see ‘council funding’ – above. ACTION: John Jones (in absence!)/Dan Mahers

Opportunities for unicycle hockey: It was agreed that the hall would be used exclusively for unicycle hockey for one hour every month. – Explore option of hiring the other room on these occasions. ACTION: Dan Mahers
This idea could also be extended to other discipline e.g. stilts.

Explore option of texting members, as not all are on Facebook or have access to a computer. ACTION: Vaughan Budd

Explore opportunity for doing fire skills. ACTION: James Matthews

On a personal note: I am very proud of what Lynne, Cath and I have achieved with Elephants Not Included and wish the Group every success for the future. I want to see it develop & grow which is up to ALL members not just the committee!
