As some of you more regular readers from the past might have noticed, this blog, in 2012, was very neglected. Sorry about that. We will be trying to utilise it a bit better this coming year. So before that all happens I'd like to give new and old readers a bit of a recap and tour of the site.
Firstly, What is/ Who are Elephants Not Included?
We are a 18+ community circus skills group that started in April 2010.The aim of the club is to encourage adults to flourish, not only in their chosen circus skills, but personally too, by inspiring them to challenge themselves to expand their boundaries and abilities. We are open to beginners through to professional performers to join. You can read more details on the About Us page.
So what's with all the pages?
A lot of the blogs I read have a lot of information in the side bar and look a bit cluttered and since Blogger now offers us the page solution, I decided to make everything easy to find by giving them a page each. It has enabled us to have a Calender of event and Forum to chat about circus. Feel free to join in. The News page saves people from having to search the blog for important information, so if you are in a rush and need to know what's going on, that's the page for you. The Links page has a collection of circus based links, from where to buy equipment, circus charities and small circus groups in our area. If you run a circus group that you would like us to link to, let me know and I will check it out. We can then start a list for other circus groups around the world.
So, what will you be posting in the future?
We are building a team of writers from within our club membership, who we are hoping will amuse you with their tails of learning and their thoughts on the process. When we go to festivals, gatherings or circus shows we will review them for you. We will continue to post inspirational videos we find along the way, so you will still get to see some of the best circus skills that have been videoed and uploaded to the web. Most of all I hope we will be able to show people how much fun it is learning circus skills and encourage adults to remember that play is very important through out our lives. Why should all the fun be had by children? Go and join your local circus club and improve your balance, motor skills, memory, coordination, flexibility and strengthen your smile and laughter muscles.
Go on, add us to your blog feed. You know you want to!
