Shhh there is an elephant in the library.

Last night at the meeting the final tweaks were made to the terms & conditions of the lending Library and it is all now set up and ready to go. So, from next Thursday the Library will be open.
Here are the revised T & C

Elephants Not Included Lending Library

Terms & Conditions

  1. Anyone wishing to borrow equipment from the Elephants Not Included Library must be a club member that has attended at least five club meetings.
  2. Only one piece or set of equipment can be borrowed at a time.
  3. Anyone wishing to borrow equipment must speak to the Treasurer, Chair or Secretary, who will fill out the required form for them to sign.
  4. Anyone borrowing from the lending library will be asked if they want to make a donation to the equipment fund after they return the equipment. Any money donated will be used to buy new or repair old equipment for the lending library.
  5. Lent equipment should only be used by the person signing the equipment out of the library.
  6. The signatory for the equipment is solely responsibility for any damage or loss of equipment. If equipment does get damages the signatory must not try to repair it themselves. They must return it to the ENI club library.
  7. The signatory will be billed, in full, for repairs or replacement of any damaged (over & above reasonable wear and tear) or lost equipment.
  8. Equipment must be returned by the arranged date. Failure to do so will result in a warning being issued. The signatory must then contact the Chair, Treasurer or Secretary to explain why the equipment has not been returned. If there is no contact made and the equipment not returned within 1 week the signatory will be billed for the equipment and may be asked to leave the club.
  9. If you wish to borrow equipment that is already out on loan you can ask to be added to the waiting list. As soon as the equipment is returned the person at the top of the list will be informed, so they can then borrow the equipment.
  10. The loan period for equipment will usually be 1 week, unless otherwise agreed by the club.
  11. All equipment must be brought back to club meetings so it is available for other members to use.
  12. Those borrowing equipment from the library do so entirely at their own risk. Neither the organisation of Elephants Not Included nor any of its officers are liable for any damages or injuries resulting from the use of this equipment.
  13. The officers of the Elephants Not Included have the right to refuse to lend equipment to any of the members and the right to ask for early return of the equipment at any time. A reason must be given by the officers for both refusal and a request for an early return.
  14. Equipment lent out from the library must not be used for profit or gain unless agreed it is agreed with club members prior to lending of the equipment.
  15. Only items belonging to & purchased by the club can be lent out through this library scheme.
We have decided instead of taking deposits for the equipment we will allow people to make a donation for the use of the equipment when they return them. It is up to each individual if/what amount they donate. Maybe it can be related to how much fun they have had or how much they have managed to learn. It also means that those for whom money is a bit tight at the moment won't be excluded from borrowing equipment. The money donated will be kept separate from other club funds and used to buy new equipment and pay for repairs of old equipment. All the paper work and equipment will be there next Thursday, so if you would like to hone that 3 ball cascade or want to get that staff spinning move down pat, but don't have the time within the meeting, get your name down on the paperwork so you can take the equipment home with you.

Equipment Lending Library

As most of you know by now, we have purchased some club equipment, so it is time to set up the equipment lending library. To do that we need to come up with some terms and conditions of lending. To that ends we had a bit of a chat at last weeks meeting to come up with some ideas, which I have typed up for people to read, so you can put forward ideas and thoughts about them and for people to say if they we have missed something. Everyone borrowing equipment will be expected to sign a form saying they agree to the terms before they can take the equipment home. We will be deciding the final wording at this Thursdays meeting, so Please do come along if you can. If you can't make the meeting, please put forward anything you want to say before hand by either posting it here in the comments or contact me directly and I will put your comments to the group.

This is what we have so far:-
