Summer Beach Gathering 2011

A few weeks ago it was decided by the group that we would like to set up a summer beach gathering. No details were arranged, but the general idea is that we find a beach with a campsite quite close (walking distance) down on the Gower, as it is so beautiful/close and spend the weekend having fun playing on the beach. Before anything can be arranged we need to know who would be interested in going and when is good for you. If you could give your name and 3 possible dates that you are free we can start to do the planning and booking a campsite. It would also be nice if any of you have any suggestions of good locations that you add that too.

The beach venue needs to be in a place that we can light a bonefire for warmth in the evening and for the fire spinners to be able to play without having people call the police, so basically somewhere away from a residential areas. The campsite for me can be fairly basic, but others might prefer one with lots of amenities. I'm happy to rough it for the weekend, but I know others are not, so I think there has to be at least toilets and showers on site.

The idea of this gathering is to have as much fun as we can with as many people as possible and to make that happen I am aware that a lot of members have families/children they would like to bring with them. As this is not going to be an official club meeting, but just a gathering of friends, there will not need to be the same restrictions as we have up at the Thursday night meetings as everyone will be responsible for their own actions on their own weekend break. It also means we can extend invitations to other like minded circus people. The booking of places on the campsite will be down to each individual, but we could try to gain a discount for group bookings for club members.

If you have any other idea or suggestions about what you would like to do please put them forward so they can be discussed, either in the comments here, on the facebook discussion board, or at a Thursday club meeting.

Thank you!
