The wondrous Gods of the weather chose not to listen to me and today have blessed us with horizontal rain. Yippee! So I'm indoors in a small space again.
I spent a bit of time today working on body rolling the hoop in various ways. I have found that if I stand in the hall I can get the hoop to flick spin, roll back towards me on the floor and roll a little way up my extended leg. If I had less fear of smashing the window in my front door I think it will be possible to get it to roll all the way up my body. I'll give it a try tomorrow at Swansea City Circus and see what happens. I also spent some time trying to perfect rolling the hoop over my shoulder and down my back and catching it with the opposite hand. It's not solid yet but I'm getting better. The aim is to get 3 of them going in a cascade.
Lots of waist and chest hooping happened today too. I'm beginning to feel more comfortable and at home in the 32" hoop, which is good. I still find moving them up and down my body a bit harder than normal and find myself over thinking it rather than just doing it. I think that is really the biggest issue with them. I need to just do it and stop thinking about it.
Space really is a problem when practising. The lack of it is restricting what I do so much. I wonder if I can put up a huge tarpaulin over the garden... failing that I need to rent some practice space or befriend someone with an empty barn.
