Levi Stick Tutorial

A while ago the club purchased 3 levi sticks/flow wand and they haven't been all that well used and I think that might be because not many of us have that many ideas of how to use them, so over the next few weeks I'll add a few tutorials to the blog so people can gain some ideas of how to use them. This tutorial is for complete beginners being taught by Crycan. If you already can do these moves solidly get over to You Tube and try out some of the other tutorials.

My Inspiration

I have lots of people that inspire me in the circus skills and hoop world and I try to show various individual videos by those people here on the blog all the time, but today I just felt the need to link you to the whole You Tube channel of Pam Theobold. Pam is a fantastic lady, who I admire greatly. She is suffering from osteoporosis and is using hooping to help strengthen her bones with exercise. She grabs hold of life and hoops it up until it is dizzy. She has shared a HUGE number of hooping tutorials on You Tube, for free. If you want to learn lots of new moves, and you need someone to break down in detail how each move works, I can recommend Pam's teaching style. She gives detailed explanations and shows you close up shots of grips and motions as she goes along. She is also mindful to inform you how the moves can impact on your body.

Here is another fabulous hoop tutorial from Steve Bags. If you want to learn the 'happy spider grip' and the 'chicken grip', amongst others, to enhance and advance your figure of eights with your hoop, Steve is here to explain it all.

A friend of mine, Meg Pike, who I think is one of the best staffers in the world, has made a comprehensive set of tutorials for staff that you can access and use to improve your staffing skills.

This is a link to a "Steve" Tutorial for Robert. This is the thing I have been trying to show you for the last month or so, but since I'm a terrible staff spinner I'm guessing what I have been doing in no way resembled the real move
