3 Years Old
This coming week Elephants Not Included will be 3 years old. That means on Thursday 25th April we will be having a party to celebrate. If you are coming please bring a small plate of food (buffet food) and we will play lots of silly games, eat birthday cake and have lots of fun. If you have a particular game you wish to play let Daniel M or Lynne know in advance and we will then be able to get any props ready (if needed). We start at 7pm. Happy Birthday ENI!

We'll be 1 year old on the 22nd of April 2011
I think we deserve a treat to celebrate our 1st years Anniversary, so as well as a Birthday party on the 21st April I think we need a Birthday gift for the club.So fellow ENI members, what do you want for our birthday? A beginners Unicycle? Some stilts? A rolla bolla? Hula hoops? Bar flairing bottles? any suggestions anyone? Post your ideas either here, on facebook or let one of the committee know. We'll put the 3 most requested things up to the vote.

The results are in....
Last nights emergency general meeting was a success as we now have two more committee members.... *drum roll*.....The new Treasure of the Elephants Not Included club is...... Stephen Hanbury! Thank you for standing Stephen. I would be grateful if all of you club members make his life easier by remembering to sign in at the beginning of each meeting you attend and pay your £2, thank you.
The new post of Events Organiser was taken by..... Daniel Mahers! So, if you have any events you want the club to attend or have a request for a master class in plate spinning or 3 ball juggling let him know and he will get the committee to organise it.
The Committee now stands as
Chair :- Lynne Davies
Secretary :- Vaughan Budd
Treasurer :- Stephen Hanbury
Events Organiser :- Daniel Mahers
Now we have a full committee again we will be discussing with the club members where you see the ENI going in the next year, because yes Elephants Not Included is almost 1 year old, so bring forward all your ideas and wants to the club committee members. We can't promise we will be able to do all of them, but we will discuss all your ideas and see how feasible each idea/request is. We will of course be having a party to celebrate the fact we will be 1 on 21st April. It will be a bring a plate event again as was the Christmas and Halloween events and I'm sure we can rustle up a few prizes for people to win in some party games.
See you all next Thursday!

Dates for your diary
We have set the date for the summer beach gathering. The weekend of the 20-22 May will be the date, so get it booked off work, get the sun lotion at the ready and check out that your tent doesn't have any leaks. We haven't sorted out exactly which campsite yet, but I will do that before the end of next week. We are thinking of the campsite above the Three Cliffs Bay on the Gower, but will do a bit more research. If you hate camping or have other commitments during the evening, but would still like to come along during the day, we'd love to see you there too. As said, in the previous post about the Summer Gathering, family and friends are welcome to attend too and each person coming will need to book their own place on the campsite if they wish to stay over night.
Two other things to add to your diary for the Elephant's Not Included meetings are that on the last Thursday of the month the first hour of the session the hall will be given over to the unicyclists to use as they see fit. It is a way to give them enough space to play unicycle hockey or to set up obstacles to jump or cycle around and generally have one wheeled fun.
The 2nd Thursday of the month the the first hour in hall will be used for a yoga class. The idea of this is to help us to gain strength, flexibility and fitness which will aid with all our circus skills. We will be inviting a trained yoga teacher to come and tutor us. Most of us are total beginners so if you have never tried yoga before don't let that put you off joining in. Hopefully this will lead to more people doing proper warm up sessions each week, which will help to prevent people pulling muscles and straining themselves when doing their circus skills practice.
Both these events are optional, so if you don't wish to take part in them you can turn up at 8pm on those days rather than 7pm when you'll be able to do the regular circus skills play or we do have the use of other space within the building at that time if you would like to use that instead, but be mindful that the ceiling height is limited, as is the general space, so you might have to tailor what you practice to the area available.
If any of you have other things you feel that an hour of hall time would be used for, please do bring it up with the committee members, so that it can be put to the group.
Now the big one. Last year on the 22nd April Jon Nash, Cath Davies and I opened the doors for the first meeting of the Elephants Not Included club and to celebrate this fact it has been requested we hold a party to mark the date. The closest club date to that day is Thursday 21st April, so that will be party night. Usual thing, bring a plate, and be ready to play some silly games. I'll post a reminder here closer to the day.
See you all next Thursday!
